Marcel Bane

My name is Marcel dos Reis, and I am a professional journalist and translator specializing in English to Brazilian Portuguese with over 20 years of experience. I bring a strong background in literature and poetry translation, as well as subtitling for film and television. Over the past ten years, I collaborated with leading LSPs, including Moravia RWS, TransPerfect, Rev, and Zoo Digital. Due to NDAs, I am unable to disclose specific client names, but these roles have involved subtitling content for some of the world’s largest streaming platforms and studios. Additionally, I have worked on numerous subtitling projects for Estação Luz Filmes, Instituto IRIS, and Sertão Filmes, smaller studios in Brazil. I have built a robust portfolio both in translation and in journalism. My work has included projects for esteemed clients such as the BBC, UNICEF, Petrobras, and Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil. Between 2014 and 2016, I served as a Communicatuions Consultant for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
