Fulvio Giglio

I have worked as a freelance English–Italian translator and interpreter since 1997, collaborating with major LSPs such as LanguageWire, MTT, COMTEC, SDL International, and direct clients like Renishaw Plc. My career began unexpectedly after the maritime agency I worked for went bankrupt. A chance project in Milan introduced me to translation and interpreting, and it quickly became a rewarding long‑term profession. Thanks to family ties in Chester, I grew up bilingual and later formalised my skills with the Cambridge Proficiency (1992), the ITI (2002) and CIOL membership (2007), and finally the Postgraduate Diploma in Interpreting from the London Metropolitan University (2008). Translation gives me flexibility and precision in my daily work, while interpreting offers travel and human connection. Outside my profession, music is my favourite outlet — I sing and play bass in two bands — and I’m passionate about the arts in all their forms.
