Split a TMX file
Break a big translation memory into smaller ones: one per language pair, per year, per translator, per client, or in chunks of a fixed size. Every unit is copied exactly as it was.
Your files never leave your computer. Splitting runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How it works
1. Drop your TMX
Any TMX export, with any number of languages.
2. Choose how to split it
By language pair, year, user, a property such as client, or into files of a fixed size. A preview lists the files you'll get.
3. Download a ZIP
Each TMX keeps the original header and its units exactly as they were. Units without a value go to an "unassigned" file.
Frequently asked questions
Is splitting a TMX free?
Yes. No sign-up, files up to 500 MB.
Is my memory uploaded?
No. Splitting runs in your browser, so the file never reaches our server.
Can I extract one language pair from a multilingual TMX?
Yes. Split by language pair: each target language becomes its own bilingual TMX with the source language.
What happens to units without a year, user or property?
They go to a file ending in _unassigned.tmx, so nothing is lost.
