I think memoQ is slowly dying for freelancers. My renewal is next month and I really don't see the point anymore.
90% of what agencies send me now is Trados packages, the rest is Phrase or some online tool they make you use with their login. memoQ projects maybe 2 or 3 per year?? and direct clients they dont care at all what I use.
And dont get me wrong, I like memoQ more than Trados, the interface makes more sense, the QA is better, LiveDocs is great. But I'm paying for the tool I like and then I end up working in the one I hate because thats what clients use.
So tell me I'm wrong. Who is still using memoQ as main tool and why? or did you switch and regret it?

I use memoQ as main tool and I open the Trados packages directly in memoQ, it works fine for 95% of the cases. I deliver the return package and the agency never noticed. so for me paying Trados AND memoQ makes no sense, but paying only memoQ does. Where I agree is the price. The renewal is expensive for what changes every year, I feel I'm paying for the same thing again.
