How do you handle a client who's 60 days late?

I need some advice because I'm a bit lost with this one.

An agency I work with since 2 years now owes me 3 invoices, the oldest is 60 days late. They were always a little slow but never this much. Every time I write I get the same answer "its with accounts, should be processed soon" and nothing happens.

The problem is they still send me new jobs every week, like nothing. I don't want to lose the client but also I'm not a bank.

Do you stop accepting work until they pay? do you charge late fees (and do agencies actually pay them)? or you just wait and keep reminding? when is the moment you say ok enough.

Thanks in advance.

Been there, more than once unfortunately

What works for me: after 30 days I send one friendly reminder, after 45 days I write directly to the PM (not accounts) and say I need to put new jobs on hold until the old invoices are paid. Polite but clear. 9 of 10 times the money appears in like a week, funny how "accounts" suddenly moves 😅

Late fees, I have them in my terms (2% per month) but honestly never charged them, I use it more as argument than anything.

And 3 invoices + 60 days with an agency that still sends work every week, for me thats a sign they are using you as cheap credit. I would stop accepting new jobs now, before it becomes 4 or 5 invoices.
